Heat the metal mold to 200–250°C (typically using electric or oil heating).
Close the mold and pour in PVC or TPU powder (particle size approx. 0.1–0.2mm). The powder uniformly coats the mold cavity surface.
Continue heating the mold. The powder contacting the hot mold surface melts and adheres to the cavity wall, forming a liquid layer.
Dump out the unmelted excess powder (which can be recycled).
Cool the mold to 60–80°C. The molten layer solidifies into a hollow part.
Open the mold and remove the soft-textured skin part.
| Characteristic | Description |
|---|---|
| Material | Cast aluminum or thin steel plate (for fast heat transfer and light weight). |
| Surface Treatment | Laser engraved or chemically etched texture (simulating leather/wood grain/carbon fiber). |
| Structure | No ejector pins/sliders; monolithic cavity (simplifies demolding). |
| Wall Thickness Control | Precisely regulated via heating time/temperature (0.5–3mm). |
| Thermal Conductivity Requirement | Requires rapid and uniform heat transfer; achieved via embedded heating/cooling pipes within the mold. |
