Unsure which bumper mold material to choose
For annual production below 100,000 pieces, P20 can be used. For over 500,000 pieces, 718 is recommended. For production exceeding one million pieces, consider using S136, NAK80, 18Ni, or applying surface nitriding treatment to 718.
Concerned about the bumper mold's lifespan and lack of precision, leading to frequent repairs
Based on the customer's requirements, molds are manufactured using corresponding steel grades and processed through a combination of 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machining to meet the customer's high-precision specifications.
Unstable delivery schedules impact the OEM's production schedule
Shengfa Mold Co., Ltd. consistently completes delivery on or even ahead of the promised schedule committed to clients.
Issues regarding bumper mold production efficiency

Process and characteristics of bumper mold

Process and Characteristics of Plastic Injection Bumper Mold
Common injection molding materials for bumpers, such as PP, ABS, and PC, offer fast molding cycles, high efficiency, low cost, lightweight properties, and reduced post-processing labor costs. These advantages make them widely accepted by customers.

Process and Characteristics of SMC Bumper Mold
SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) is a fiber-reinforced composite material primarily composed of thermosetting resin, reinforcing fibers, and fillers. The molding process involves cutting the compound sheets, layering them, controlling the placement and area of material loading, managing venting, and then undergoing high-temperature, high-pressure compression molding. Key characteristics of SMC products include high specific strength, high stiffness, corrosion resistance, aging resistance, electrical insulation, thermal insulation and flame retardancy, high surface smoothness, dimensional stability, low shrinkage rate, good colorability, minimal production waste, and low styrene emissions.

Process and Characteristics of PDCPD Bumper Mold
The DCPD-RIM process is fundamentally a chemical reaction, rather than a physical melting process like that of traditional thermoplastic plastics. It is similar to the polyurethane RIM process but utilizes a DCPD monomer system. The key to the RIM process lies in the use of high-precision metering pumps to accurately deliver components A and B in a 1:1 ratio to the mixing head. The two liquid streams are mixed instantaneously and extremely uniformly under low pressure in the mixing head. The liquid mixture is then injected into the mold cavity at low pressure, with a curing time typically ranging from 1 to 3 minutes. Once the reaction is complete, the molded part has achieved sufficient strength and can be demolded. The characteristics of the finished products include high impact resistance and toughness, lightweight, excellent corrosion resistance, high production efficiency, relatively low mold costs, and the ability to form very large, structurally complex, and highly integrated parts.
What are the standards for molds?
Molds are categorized into four major standards: international, national, industry, and enterprise standards. However, I personally believe that molds do not have a universal standard. They are bespoke products, and the customer's requirements are the ultimate standard.

Our bumper mold case

RUSSIA
Shengfa optimized and produced our mold design, resulting in a 30% increase in our production efficiency.
Agricultural machinery

U.S
Electroformed nickel molds represent a cost reduction of 50% to 100% compared to those produced in Europe, Japan, and Korea. Furthermore, their production lead time is roughly one month faster than that of other countries.
Construction Machinery

JAPAN
Shengfa was formerly a Sino-Japanese joint venture, so its mold design and manufacturing are similar to Japanese standards at a much lower cost. Plus, communication is smooth and after-sales service is efficient.
Construction Machinery

U.S
They identified and corrected imperfections in our design, which paved the way for a successful shift from the legacy material to the advanced alternative.
